Description
L: 19-20cm; W:24-29cm;
Reedbed bird that stands out for its size and thick beak. It has a reddish-brown back; very pale reddish-white underparts; white throat and eyebrow, often bristling crown feathers like a crest; uniform brown tail; bluish-grey legs. Similar sexes, not being possible to differentiate them by plumage. Juveniles with fresh plumage; dark brown iris.
