Description

Inconspicuous inhabitant of humid zones and flooded fields. Upper parts black and reddish, striped; chest ocher, mottled dark; white belly; black hood, with longitudinal buff stripe; wings brown, with white tips on flight feathers; tail barred black and fawn; bill very long, greenish, twice or more the length of the head. in flight the length of the beak stands out.
