Description

L: 24-28 ccm, W: 52-59 cm.

Bird with gray-brown plumage with white spots on some of the male’s feathers. Wings and tail grey; chestnut throat with lateral white spots; the yellowish ocher underparts strongly striated transversely. Both sexes are similar, but the male differs by having white spots on the wings and ends of the tail. Juveniles resemble the adult female without the primary spots and tail feathers.
