Description
L: 33-36 cm; E: 67-83 cm;
oiseau commun dans les zones humides peu profondes; dos sombre; reste du plumage blanc, avec une tache noire ou brune sur la tête, bien qu’absente quelques fois; bec noir et long; yeux rouges; pattes de couleur rouge et très longues. Juvéniles: plumage neuf; parties supérieures et couvertures sous l’aile de plumes tachetées.
