Description
L: 15-16.5cm; W:22-25.5cm;
Bird of marked sexual dimorphism. Adults have brown backs and yellowish underparts; olive-brown rump; flanks with a brown spot and bluish bill; male has a striking facial pattern, black throat, and dark line covering eyes; chest with a greyish-green band; the female lacks a black throat patch and has a finely striped chest. Juveniles are browner, with mottled grey underparts and rump; small greenish covert feathers.
