Ruta de los Pajaricos – Andorra Sierra de Arcos
A destination of contrasts, biodiversity and skies full of life
The Andorra–Sierra de Arcos region, in northern Teruel, is one of Aragón’s most surprising and least‑known territories. Its position between the Iberian System and the Ebro Valley creates a unique blend of landscapes: rugged sierras, limestone gorges, wooded riverbanks, traditional olive groves and wide cereal plains. This mosaic of habitats makes it an exceptional birdwatching destination.
Here, visitors can enjoy cliff‑nesting raptors, steppe birds, riverine species, Mediterranean scrub fauna and forest birds, all within a compact and easily accessible area. From the soaring Golden Eagles over the cliffs of Oliete and Alacón, to the lively reedbeds along the Escuriza, Estercuel and Martín rivers; from the larks and pipits of the open fields to the woodpeckers, tits and nuthatches of the forests, the region offers an outstanding representation of Mediterranean birdlife.
The Ruta de los Pajaricos invites visitors to explore this diversity through signposted routes, viewpoints, hides and interpretive resources that bring the territory’s natural richness closer to everyone.
