Description

Summer visitor to wetlands. Adult male has black upperparts, wings, and tail; suede collar and bottoms; white spot on wing. Adult female similar to male, but less dark the black areas are brown; the wings and back have numerous cream-colored stripes. wing spot brownish. Juveniles brown, striped.
