Description
L: 31-37cm; W: 68-78cm;
Raptor with pointed wings and long tail, with a black band near the end; dark nails; back brown, mottled in both sexes; light ocher underparts, mottled on body and wings; male with gray head and tail without streaks; female and juveniles head and tail more ocher and striated; the outer primary is similar in length to the 7th.Adult male with gray head without streaks; tail, uppertail coverts and rump uniformly gray without barring; speckled back and upper wing coverts sparse, black, and rhomboid in shape. Adult female with ribbed head; tail, uppertail coverts and rump barred and greyish tint; mottled back and wing uppercoverts dense, dark brown and triangular in shape.
