Description
L:cm; W: cm; 33-38cm.
Back of brown color, something reddish; gray underparts on chest, reddish on abdomen; ribbed black collar, chestnut, white and black striped flanks; red bill, eyering, and legs. Male with broad, shiny black spots at base of bill and collar; spurs on both legs compact in appearance. Female with smaller, dull black spots at base of bill and collar; no spurs, with spurs on one or both legs, but pointed. Juveniles brown, without barring on the flanks; throat without black border; brown beak.
