Description
L: 15-16.5cm; W:21.5-27cm;
Brown-backed bird with black stripes; ocher underparts; grey head streaked with black on crown and cheeks. Both sexes of similar pattern and colour, but more intense in the male; bluish beak. Juveniles are dun-coloured, with mottled grey underparts; little grey covert feathers.
