Description
L:13-14cm; W:15-18cm;
Bird that presents a pronounced sexual dimorphism. The adult male has a black crown that reaches below the eyes with a striking red orbital ring; dark grey back and light grey underparts, and a white throat. The adult female has a dark grey crown; brown back; lighter brown underparts; white throat and orange eyering; both have clear legs. Juveniles without dark pileus, dark iris and fresh plumage.
