Description
L:35-39 cm ; E: 54-60 cm;
oiseau de taille moyenne, de tons marron gris sur le dos, parsemé de taches blanches, comme sur l’aile; zone ventrale de couleur blanchâtre, avec une bande oculaire sombre; gorge ocre-jaunâtre. La calotte est gris argenté avec une huppe de même ton ainsi qu’un anneau oculaire rouge. Juvéniles de tons marron chocolat avec de nombreuses taches blanches sur le dos et la partie ventrale blanche, tirant à jaune-ocre sur la poitrine et le cou; calotte noire et anneau oculaire plus manifeste que chez les adultes.
