Description

L: 60-66cm; W: 154-166cm;

Back and neck brown, fringed with chestnut and reddish in appearance; reddish underparts, streaked; cap and nape whitish and streaked; wings brown, with a pale base, and a broad white spot below on the primaries; forked chestnut tail; bill dark; yellow wax; light yellow eye Both sexes are similar, the males being smaller than the females. Juveniles with duller tones and white diagonal in the middle of the wing seen from above.
