Description
L: 16cm; W:23-29cm;
Bird with a marked atlantic character. Breeding male with yellow head, chestnut “moustachial stripe”; reddish-brown back, streaked with brown; reddish-brown rump and tail coverts without streaks; bluish bill; in winter plumage is similar in appearance to the female but more yellow. Female browner, greener and more striated than the male. Juveniles are similar to females but browner.
