Recognizable by its large size, thick neck, and large bill. Brown plumage; ash gray head and neck; whitish belly; white tail coverts; large orange or pink bill; and pink legs. Both sexes are of similar plumage. Juveniles: With narrow, light gray coverts tipped with buff; no barring on underparts and dull eyering.
